The School of Dity, St. Joachim, pertains to the Parish of St. Anne in Anse-a-Foleur. The Parish of St. Anne is located about 2 hours east from the township of Port-de-Paix.
The Parish of Anse-a-Foleur is remote in location with no real road, therefore travel there is often limited by rains which swell up the rivers that let out to the sea right near the main town area.
The village of Dity is located above in the mountains about 2 ½ hours on foot from the parish. One must cross the same winding river some 14 times along the way traveling up and down steep hillsides along the mountains.
Due to the arduous terrain, construction of the new school has been complicated. Most materials must be taken by the people themselves on their backs, and while those who are more fortunate carry the supplies by mule.
